Reiki is an energy transfer technique used for healing mental, emotional and spiritual ailments. It is spiritually guided life energy which stimulates a harmonious flow of chi through the mind and body, activating a natural healing response. Although Usui Reiki was founded in Japan by Dr. Mikao Usui and taught as a Japanese healing technique, it is well known that this Universal Energy is accessible to everyone and that the sacred symbols used in reiki are ancient, cross-cultural, and go back as far as Atlantean times. Today it is mainly used for stress reduction, relaxation and balancing the body’s ki (or chi). When connecting with Reiki, we connect to divine entities that are also present and aid us along our healing journeys. The technique is offered through light, non-invasive touch with the practitioner's hands placed on or above the body in a series of positions along chakra energy centres and meridian lines.
